How accurate is my location?

On a phone outdoors, GPS is usually accurate to within 5–10 m. Indoors or on a laptop the browser falls back to Wi-Fi and mobile networks, which can be off by tens or hundreds of metres. The accuracy shown is the radius your device reports, and the tool keeps refining for a few seconds to improve it.

A plus code (Open Location Code) is a short code like 7JWVJ5G7+X5 that stands for a spot about 14 × 14 m. It works where there is no street address and can be typed into Google Maps.

Which coordinate formats can I convert?

Decimal degrees (28.6139, 77.2090), degrees-minutes-seconds (28°36'50"N 77°12'32"E), degrees and decimal minutes (N 28 36.8 E 77 12.5) and Google Maps links containing @latitude,longitude.

Why does it ask for location permission?

Browsers only share your location with a page after you allow it. If you blocked it earlier, re-enable location for this site in your browser settings.
